If you follow my Facebook page, I'm sure you've seen my hints towards a project I have been working on. I wasn't sure when to announce it since I have been very busy and working on the future of this group. So here goes nothing, I'm beginning my very own Utah Pinup Group! Let me tell you why.
Over the summer I started going to one or two car shows a week, I started making friends with people in the pinup community and competing in contests. I decided I wanted to be a larger part of this community, but how? There was a national pinup group looking for state chapter leaders, I of course applied for a position immediately, but for reasons unknown to me not much came from it and I was disappointed it. During this time I met a really amazing local Pinup group, the Queens of 801. I adore them and love their organization, they told me they were recruiting but I was hesitant as I wanted to start my own group. |
I told Brittnie, the founder and president of the Queens of 801 that I wanted to start my own group, I explained to her that I love what her ladies do and how they do it, I asked her advice and she's helped me get this far. I look forward to the amazing things our groups may do together.
One thing I've struggled with most of my life is making friends with girls, society pits against each and we feel like we have to compete. As a Beehive Bettie, one of our group goals is to uplift and empower each other while helping out in the community and representing the pinup life style in a clean, classy way. |
I want this group to be all about having fun. This group is for local pinups to catch up at least once a month, this way other ladies in the area can make like-minded friends and give each other advice. It's open to anyone over the age of 18, we don't discriminate against anyone, shapes, sizes, race, tattoos, none of these effect your participation in this amazing group. We just want some with a love of the fashion and a good heart. |
One thing I'm passionate about is Juvenile Diabetes/Type 1 Diabetes, my younger brother is a Type 1 Diabetic so one thing I have in the works will be a Diabetes fundraiser for next summer. Some of the things we may do when we aren't fundraising may include vintage shopping, checking out historic landmarks, photo shoots, car shows, movie nights, bowling and so much more!
Beehive Bettie's Mission Statement: Our goal is to provide a safe environment for other Bettie's, this means a fun carefree place to share stories, our makeup and hair tips, as well as thoughts and ideas for fundraisers. We want to empower women of all shapes and sizes and help each other make friends while finding our self worth and the confidence we all deserve.
If you're interested in joining there are a few ways to go about doing so! You can e-mail me at [email protected] or if you'd like to meet with me in person I will be at three upcoming car shows/pinup contests. (Scare Away Cancer, Kulture Krash ii and the Bo Huff Memorial.) I will add these flyers to the bottom of the blog if you're interested in meeting me! I'm really excited to meet so many of you wonderful ladies and I can't wait to get started. If you're wondering about some of our guidelines/rules you can click on the button below and go over those, otherwise I can't wait to hear from you!
