I recently met the Queens Of 801 at the Day of Hope Car Show, immediately they welcomed me and wanted to know how I got into the Pinup style. Their President and founder, Brittnie, has been helping me with a project and get some things up and running. I decided I wanted to post about their Group on my blog since they're such a wonderful part of the community. So in Brittnie's words, this is what the Queens of 801 are all about. |
Queens Of 801 is a local non profit group of women from or living in the 801 in the Salt Lake Valley. We love our beautiful city, we enjoy the car shows whether they be lowrider car shows or more of the classic vintage car shows, just being out in the city exploring getting to know the people checking out the new hot spots supporting the local music scene rockabilly, rock, oldies, hip hop, supporting the local comedians etc.
We owe a lot of our success to Melvin Garcia from Firme Image, he is a big supporter of Queens Of 801, we attend all of his events and will be there to support him to the end, we also owe a lot of our success to Brent B Real he has supported us since day one and we do the same for him, he is a hilarious comedian with a big heart. |
We love being able to help out at all of the charity events going on whether it be for the kids or a family who's had a relative pass and needs financial help or someone that is ill who cannot pay doctor bills, this truly just fills our hearts with so much joy.
We are all so unique in our own way, we bring a different and edgier look to the rockabilly and pinup community, we are a very tight knit group and we really do cherish one another's friendship and sisterhood. We have been very blessed to be a part of many car shows this year such as the Victor’s tires car show where we hosted the pinup contest with awesome prizes that were all donated by local businesses throughout the Salt Lake Valley. |
I love when our community pulls together for the greater good.
We also donated time and effort for David and Bobs body shop car show a few weeks ago it was such a great cause and so much money was donated to THE KIDS with disabilities.
These are definitely amazing things that we have been able to be a part of this last 9 months, even more incredible we have only been together as a group for 9 months, we just keep getting bigger and stronger as a group and we love and thank all who support us.
If you would like to meet some of these lovely ladies, they are going to be out at two up coming Car Shows/Pinup Contests. They really are a great group of women and I can't wait to see what the future holds for them.
